Koru: My New Beginning
🌿 Koru: My New Beginning 🌏
Once upon a time, in a faraway land called New Zealand, there lived a boy named Darren who loved to draw and create. He loved the green hills, the shining rivers, and the beautiful koru shapes that grew in nature. Every swirl, every line, told a story about life, growth, and new beginnings.
As Darren grew older, he found a special love for glass art and painting. He worked hard every day, learning how to mix colors, shape ideas, and tell stories through his hands. His art wasn’t just something to look at, it was something to feel, something that reminded people of home, of kindness, and of hope.
Years went by, and life took Darren on many adventures. He travelled, met wonderful people, and learned new ways to express his art. One day, he moved far across the world, all the way to Istanbul, Turkey. It was a new place, filled with color, history, and beauty. Even though it was far from his homeland, Darren carried New Zealand in his heart.
He kept painting, dreaming, and creating. Every brush stroke told a story, about the land of the kiwi, the waves of the ocean, and the gentle spirit of Aotearoa. People began to notice. They saw the heart and soul in his art.
Then came a very special day. After so many years, Darren finally had his first personal exhibition. It was held in Istanbul, at the Futy Art Gallery, and it was called “Koru New Beginning.”
It was a moment of magic, not only his first exhibition, but also the first New Zealand art exhibition ever held in Turkey! Inside the gallery, the walls were filled with 56 original illustrations, each one telling a story about who Darren is and where he comes from.
Visitors walked slowly, their eyes wide with wonder. They saw pictures of New Zealand’s nature, people, and dreams. Some artworks looked like memories of the past, while others showed Darren’s ideas for a better, kinder future.
Even though not all his paintings could fit, only 54 were displayed, the gallery felt alive with the spirit of New Zealand. It was like a bridge between two worlds: the land where Darren was born, and the place where he now lives with love and creativity.
He smiled, knowing this was more than just an exhibition. It was a story of patience, belief, and never giving up, a story about how far dreams can travel.
As people watched the video of his art, the collection of Koru Kiwi Arts, they didn’t just see pictures. They saw a journey, told through colors and light.
For Darren, it wasn’t the end. It was the beginning of something new, just like the koru, a symbol of new life. His art continues to grow, just like his story, spreading the beauty of New Zealand wherever he goes.
